Juneteenth Strawberry Mint Julep

There are no rules to drinking alcohol during a pandemic and civil unrest, so go ahead and join me by making this Strawberry Mint Julep with from scratch simple syrup, muddled strawberries and fresh mint. I put a more modern, sweeter and fruitier twist on the traditional Mint Julep that has been known to be enjoyed by plantation owners. What an interesting paradox that we’ll be drinking the cocktail typically drank by those who ran plantations in celebration of a day of freedom and liberation for Black people in America. While you’re drinking, be sure to reflect on that. Enjoy ♥️
